The Aartplace team was engaged by Downtown Van to provide Public Art Consulting Services for the development of the BIA’s first Public Art Strategy.
The Downtown Van Public Art Strategy establishes a framework to guide the approach to public art in the BIA’s public spaces from 2025 to 2027.
Grounded in a deep understanding of Downtown Vancouver’s context, history, and growth—including its public spaces, existing public art, and diverse community of visitors, residents, and BIA members—the strategy defines Downtown Van’s public art vision, guiding principles, objectives, site integration considerations, and curatorial approach.
Refined through staff engagement and external peer review, these elements shape four Public Art Strategic Priorities, outlining key focus areas to advance public art objectives over the next three years.
More details to come.
